1) it costs all international students £10,000 a year to study at a UK university.
2) i'm a student and spend about £100 a week on food/going out. don't forget you will also have to pay for where you are living. in first year you will live in university accomodation, it averages about £75-100 a week depending on where you choose.
3) there are plenty of student jobs, especially within promoting. wages average £5-6 an hour. and no you will definately not be treated different for being an arab! Manchester is a very cosmopolitan city, you won't have to worry about that. If you are up for drinking and socialising you will fit in very well. If you arent into drinking, there will be lots of other things for you to do anyway.

According to the diversity expert on my campus, diversity includes all colors and ages, not just minorities. Therefore, you should attend the fair because many companies follow this same definition. However, if you don't find many viable jobs, don't be upset. Some schools and employers must hire people under certain guidelines (x minorities, y women, etc) and this sounds like a place they would recruit.

What should a 40+ CPA should do in a complex job search?
Career coaches have told that 40 plus job seekers should add a sense of "urgency" while working on this activity but other coaches have also said that showing "urgency" is not advisable because it can eliminate candidates because they are "desperate".
What is the better approach and why? Please provide pros and cons.

One could argue the same for the natural sciences, social sciences, or any of the humanities. A liberal arts requirement is precisely that. It ensures that the student has a well rounded education that will help make them a successful person.

Edit:
That is ony true from your personal perspective, I know plenty of students who have and do relish the mathematics section of a liberal arts requirement. I would love to see your statistics stating that "the math requirement also pushes many people to leave college before completeing degree". Any college course would have told you to back up your agruments through citation, Math is also considered a "hard" subject area. Liberal arts distribution include social sciences, math, natural science, and humanities. The argument about calligraphy, etc is nill from an purely academic stance.

If you really have an issue with your PERSONAL problems with the math requirement talk to your advisor and the registrar. They can help you come up with solutions and even help you to petition around the requirement.

St. George campus is generally more highly regarded with the exception of programs specific to Mississauga.

Overall there is not a huge difference.

What are my employment prospects?
I am a 35 year old who has gone back to complete a degree -- ANY degree -- the swiftest being a Bachelor's in Science Education (BSE) in "Health Science" (Think Pre-med without the more intensive MCAT preparations or secondary organic chem requirements).

► As a 35 year old who will graduate with said degree within 6 months, and as a 35 year old with experience in sales (health insurance), elementary 'old school' web design (notepad HTML and WYSIWYG editors, Photoshop & Illustrator; experience in management/marketing for a profitable retail venue; experience in public speaking, fund-raising, product development / marketing / trending; specific training for retail systems (I live just under the shadow of Wal-Mart Corporate Offices Bentonville, AR., so naturally we are all very immersed in both Wally World Vendors and the proprietary software they use; Oh, and I ran for public office (state Rep) while President of the Junior Chamber of Commerce.

What Could I do after college?
Oh, and I forgot some other details:
 I just received the 32nd Degree in Freemasonry;
I have enjoyed my time as a certified, practicing hypnotherapist (tough to market / FUN to build as a business!!); freelance marketer on pure commission for area chiropractors (another TOUGH sale...I am a sucker for cold calling ...It makes me FIRED Up ) [ Now, if someone could teach me better closing techniques...]

Ah, yes... more:
I developed an interactive seminar series that instantly removes MUCH of cold contacting anxiety. Tested it on an area Real Estate company, and they have reported double digit comp increases over last quarter (YAY!!).

► Naturally, I'd LOVE, LOVE, LOVE Pharmaceutical sales. In fact, I took the initiave to speak to several area physicians, asking them to help me create a "better system for pharm sales work". Still gathering info for that into a possible book.
Oh, and I have written, self-published and successfully marketed a book (ultimate tough sale, whew).

1) Open up a 401K and put aside some money (anywhere from 5 - 15%) in it every month. The deductions are tax free and the effect of compounding is a bliss.

2) Do you budgeting and if you have any cash left , start working on putting aside an emergency fund (usually 3-6 months of your living expenses). You can put this money is a CD, savings account or a Money Market Fund.
3) If you are still left with any, open a brokerage account with a brokerage firm or read finance (yahoo finance is a good source), educate yourself on investing and start putting a few hundred dollars in basic stocks, ETFs or index funds.

Hope this helps.
